GOOD NEWS! My hostel got the wireless connection already.. Like one of my friends puts it, it's like "new toilet", ya know? I bet there must be at least one using the internet in each room. The line is jammed every night and my laptop won't be able to win a connection.. Hmm.. It's a good thing anyway, it will help me to manage my time better.
Here's a window of what my hostel life like :
They knocked on my door at 12am, 20th May 2008 and left me with a cake. Then, they sat here, pretending that I have gained the power of invisibility on my 20th birthday..( They are actually giggling, can you see that?? )

Finally, after much persuasion, they agreed to have a photo session.. Sigh, begging at the first hour of my 20th year. Anyways... here are the very lovely ladies in my college.

Bee bee, me and Lyds

My thoughtful friends..

Not so thoughtful after all.. >.<
Can you detect me?.. or should I say.. can you see my hand? JC was pushing me..!!

My 20th birthday cake
Then, after 3 days.. these two gentlemen decided to give me a treat for my birthday. Thanks :) especially Jacko who purposely drove here.

Zach and I

Jack Jack and myself (we do look like real siblings, don't we?)
Rewind your brain a little.. My family gave me a treat too on 19th May before sending me back to college.

The sisters!
Enough about my "getting-one-year-older" day. I have no regrets spending my birthday here.. because of my great friends here..! They are really lovely!
More pictures...
Yes, I bet you can recognize him.. I met up with my secondary school good friends aka two Tae Kwan Do masters. Suppose to have a Judo master along but... he was beaten by a virus.

Jessica's first apple peeled by the traditional way... Hahahaha!

We (me holding camera), having a "tong sui" feast. The ladies in black ruled that night (I was one of them) :) This is how we take Semester 2 although our tutor kept saying that it is not going to be as easy as Semester 1. You go, girls!

BTW, we all passed Semester 1!
We did presentation on ppt today on Nursing Theories and something caught my attention... Jessica was presenting this slide, talking about patient's needs or something like that. One of them is sexual expression (if I am not wrong..). Then, she said something like this.. "we NEED most of THEM DAILY.." And the most of us "attacked" her.. We laughed and I wanted to ask her to clarify the point.. but nah, didn't want to bully her lah since she's my roommate.
Another funny encounter (for me) was my first day in Semester 2. We had to exchange our sitting position, so Shanti is my new neighbour now. After being curious for some time (I asssume), she blurted out this question with her heavy Tamil ascent..
"Valerie ah, you sure you got no boyfriend?" (Notice that she was so sure I have one..)
Nope, I don't.
"I don't believe lah.. You lying, isn't it?"
What makes you think that I am lying? You don't believe, you ask Marina lah..
(Some hoo-haa going on between 3 of us and finally, Marina said I am still single..)
Why suddenly you ask this question? It's only my first day sitting with you!
"No lah, you so nice (ah hemm.. I know self praise is no praise.. but this is what she said, ok!!), takkan you don't have a boyfriend."
I was puzzled and I paused.. Then, I tried to give her an intelligent reply. So I said..
Shanti, you also very nice what.. So, you got boyfriend lah?
"I don't have.."
That's my point!
And then, she just 'hehe'..
Oh, by God's grace, Marina is seated behind me... AGAIN! She became very naughty already.. kept disturbing me - pulling my hair, tickling me and all.. Hmmm... Dhar is also one row behind me. Basically, I still have my koo-koo gang with me. Jessica is in front of me and JC next to me. They cellophane taped my mouth and hands today.. :( (literally!) Evil..........
Our tutor gave us a homework. She asked us to write an essay about our own nursing theory and practices. I will say.. go to eliminate your waste every morning, 2 minutes before 8am :p
I risk myself from being late to class every morning since Monday. Heehee...
